Blowing Bubbles

We took a trip to the mall and Carman endulged me in my favorite- cookies!
Emmalynne was good at sharing with Clara!
Would you believe other than the few bites she gave Clara, we let her eat that entire thing!?
Can anyone say "ear infection?"
I don't know... Silly girl.

This is as far as Carman got on his unicycle adventure. (That's right, he never took off.) "A" for thinking about it though!

Our friends put up a slip and slide this past Saturday and invited us over. Although Emmalynne was hesitant at first, she got the hang of it and even cut in line!
Clara is learning to blow bubbles and I think it is absolutely darling. (So darling that I couldn't choose between these videos!)

Genius!

As we drove to the store with the windows partly down, a motorcycle passed us. Emmalynne put it well when she excitedly told me:

"MOMMY THERE'S A BIKE IN MY EAR!"

Seriously, is there a better way to explain how incredibly loud a motorcycle sounds?

Just Because...

I'm a little crazy, we decided there had to be some sort of animal we could add to our madness. (FYI: We successfully rid our house of cats awhile ago.) So.... Carman thought it'd be fun to have a ferret. I didn't. They smell. I briefly considered: hamsters, rats, and guinea pigs. And finally we settled upon:
A sugar glider. Actually, we have two. They're very social animals and can get lonely without a buddy. They are nocturnal, which actually works out great with Louie. During the day they sleep either in their cage where he can't see them or in a little fleece pouch that we carry around like a purse. Thus, Louie doesn't go crazy all day wishing he could play with them. The picture below is actually when Carman fell asleep while holding them in their pouch. They're very unique little critters. They actually bond to you, similar to a dog. And they live for 10-15 years. Anyway-that's our latest!

Spring Break

Yah-hoo! Carman is on spring break and he took the week off work. We decided it was time we had a vacation of absolutely nothing! It may sound lame to some, and that's ok. We are thrilled to be on day #3 of just hanging out. Matter-of-fact, Carman got up with Emmalynne early this morning and let me sleep in. So, its 9:15 and he is already having a nap! I'm thinking really hard about exercising. If I think a little harder, I'll get off the computer and do it!

A Big Girl

Clara is growing up. She likes to do things, as Emmalynne would say "all by own self." One of Clara's favorite things to do is feed herself-using silverware! This morning she got to have yogurt and a spoon with absolutely no motherly assistance. She had a rockin' time! She also enjoys feeding a bottle to her baby. She likes to sit on the couch and throw Louie his ball. Sometimes she prefers to tease him and not throw his ball. She pretends to throw it behind the couch and when Louie runs to get it she laughs. Speaking of Louie, Clara still insists that dog food & water are toys. She is so much fun, especially when she takes a nap. If Emmalynne and Clara keep at it, they are going to give up naps at the same time. Sad. What will I do!?
