What'd she say?

We have this picture of Jesus at the top of our stairs. Frequently, after climbing up the stairs with Emmalynne we'll stop, point to the picture and say, "Jesus." We started doing it when we first put the picture up shortly after we bought the house. That'd make Em 7-8 months old. She has always loved it. She smiles so big and stares at the picture. Now sometimes we'll be walking past it without saying anything and she'll be looking at Jesus and smiling. Well...one day last week Carman told me he was pointing to the picture saying, "Jesus" when Emmalynne copied him and said, "Jesus." I'll be honest, I thought, "Sure she did honey."

The next day I thought I'd do a test. I took Em over to the picture, pointed, said "Jesus" and sure enough, she said, "Jesus." I still thought it might be a fluke. However, she has said it several times since. She still doesn't say it every time we try to get her to say it but she's said it enough to make me believe Emmalynne said her first word. Jesus.

Ultrasound #1

I couldn't decide which picture to post-even though they're practically identical. For any unexperienced ultrasounders (like my Dad) this is a profile of precious baby #2. According to the sonographer my due date is Dec 4th, which makes me 12 weeks. But since its not much different from my current Dec 7th due date, they don't actually change it. The ultrasound was great. Daddy and Emmalynne went. Em's favorite part was the lights on the keyboard. :) The baby was nice and active. Yay, another Emmalynne! It was so exciting to see our little baby. It's too early to find out the gender, that should be around the beginning of July. Yay for babies!

Fun Emmalynne

Emmalynne is getting to be more and more fun! Here some things she's up to lately:

1. Clapping when we say "yay!" or randomly whenever she feels like it.

2. Following her dad around whenever he's home.
3. Drinking a cup of juice fast enough to set a record.

4. Trying to put things in my mouth, especially balls.

5. b5++533lkui Typing on the computer.

6. Repeating any cute thing we laugh at.

7. Mooching food off of anybody. It doesn't matter if she knows them or not.

8. Pushing the bathroom door open when we're in it.

9. Playing outside any chance she gets.

10. Eating things she shouldn't-like grass.
11. Trying to put things where they go, like her shoes on her feet or lids on containers.

Dance Lessons With a 2 yr old

Emmalynne's cousin Megan is spending the night tonight. Since Emmalynne just started walking pretty good she's become expert in following Megan around. Its fun to see how much Emmalynne wants to play WITH Megan. Tonight Megan decided she wanted to play with Em too and it was so cute! Megan was watching the movie Anastasia and whenever there was singing, Megan thought it'd be good to dance. Here's one of the many video clips I took.

Alright, I couldn't resist. There's one more thing Emmalynne learned tonight:

Okay, one more for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to turn your sound up well and LISTEN TO EMMALYNNE just after the smooch. Apparently Patty gives good kisses!

Mother's Day with a Daddy's Girl

Yesterday was super! First of all, at 6am, I wondered why Carman was creeping out of bed. Then I heard Emmalynne crying. He never hears her before me! They snuck downstairs to make me breakfast in bed: biscuits and gravy. Yummy.

Emmalynne helped Dad pick out a present for me. She chewed on it all the way through the store. Who over the age of 2 would think the dvd Bridge to Terabithia was edible? I really like the movie and would definitely recommend it, even though it'll make you cry if your pregnant.

Lately I've been feeling really cooped up in the house. When they say "stir crazy" they mean it, you really do go crazy. So my sweet hubby (who couldn't afford to buy me a car for Mother's Day) bought me new tubes for my bike tires, pumped them up, and hooked up Emmalynne's bike seat so she and I can go for bike rides!!! It was the best! He's so thoughtful. Come to think of it, if you're pregnant, that'll make you cry too.

Emmalynne's REAL gift to me was more than the movie. She seems to be teething and from the crabbiness of the whole situation I'd say she's got to be getting at least 5 teeth! Yesterday was nothing but crabby, crabby, crabby. Nice 1st Mother's Day gift, huh? Nope! The real gift was that she opted to be the BIGGEST DADDY'S GIRL EVER! All of her crying was in hopes that Daddy would pick her up/snuggle her/walk her around the house... She didn't really want much to do with me. She gave me the day off! Woo-hoo! I was able to capture a few special moments of the day on camera.

We thought maybe we could distract her by letting her swim in her little pool in the backyard. She wasn't too excited though.

Em had walked all the way over to her dad when she fell down. She stepped on her dress trying to stand back up and got rather frustrated:

Not more than 2 minutes after the above scene, Carman thought she'd respond well to being swung around the room. Much to my surprise, he was right.
