Baby Toenails

Benjamin had his first, but not last, appointment with the podiatrist today. We happen to have a good friend that is now also Benjamin's podiatrist. It was nice having someone I trust!

We went to see him because his regular doctor didn't know what to do about his ingrown toenails. One of them was much worse than the other. Typically, babies his age don't have many toenail problems because the toenails are so soft. It was so sad, yesterday it got to the point that Benjamin was obviously in pain because of them.

The good news is that all of Benjamin's pain is gone! ... as are both of his toenails!  (I opted not to take any pictures for this post :)

Caught A Smile

My friend Amber took this picture of Benjamin yesterday. She's seen me trying to get a picture of him smiling for like 2 weeks now. It only took her one shot!

Then Go Take A Nap

Have you ever watched the show "Hoarders?" Basically, it shows the home of a hoarder before, during, and after receiving cleaning help. I was watching it a few days ago with Emmalynne and explained to her what was happening on the show. I have no idea if that has anything to do with what she did this morning!

When I have the girls clean their rooms, I let them go do it by themselves and then I go check when they come down and tell me they're done.

Today Emmalynne was playing in her room for awhile and then came to me and asked me to go check her room. I wasn't sure why, since I hadn't asked her to clean it. When I walked in, I found her floor area COMPLETELY toy-free!
And I couldn't help but laugh when I looked at the spare bed in her room:
It was very impressive. I told her what a good job she did picking all the toys up off the floor. She was so pleased with herself that she proceeded to do the same in Clara's room.

On another note, Emmalynne usually takes naps but every now and then she doesn't. Today was a day she chose not to take a nap. I could hear her playing for 2 whole hours. She was quiet enough though. This evening, around 4:30 Emmalynne came to me (as she has before with no good reason) and told me she was tired. I smiled at her and said, "then go take a nap."

At 5, I realized she was rather quiet up there and I went to check on her. She was out! I guess it might not seem so shocking to you if you don't know that she likes to pretend take naps sometimes. Plus she smiled at me mischievously as she walked upstairs to go take her nap. Oh, and she hasn't ever just went to bed without being tucked in. Thus, it was worth documenting!

...Now its 5:30 and I think I better wake her...
